This process may seem complex, but we're here to help you understand each step and make your journey abroad easier. Check out the changes to the American visa!

Who needs a visa for the USA?

All Brazilians need a visa to enter the United States, even those who are just making an international connection. However, if you have dual citizenship and your other passport is part of the Visa Waiver Program (VWP), you may be eligible to travel without a visa.

How do I start the application process?

The first step is to identify the right type of visa for your trip. Each visa category has specific requirements, so it's essential to be aware of the details before you start your application.

Step by step to apply for a visa:

1 Filling in the DS-160 form

This is the official application form. After filling it in, print out the confirmation page with the barcode.

2 Paying the MRV fee and scheduling the interview

After filling out the form, you must pay the application fee and schedule an interview at the Visa Application Service Center (CASV) and at the US consulate or embassy.

3 Attendance at CASV to collect biometric data

Some applicants will need to go to CASV to have their photo taken and fingerprints taken before the interview.

4 Interview at the consulate or embassy

On the day of the interview, bring all the necessary documentation and be prepared to answer questions about your trip.

5 Monitoring the status and withdrawal of passports

After the interview, you can follow the status of your application online and choose how you will receive your passport with the approved visa.

Who can be exempt from the interview?

If you've already had a valid American visa and need to go through a change in american visaChildren under the age of 14, such as the renewal of a visa that expired in the last 12 months, may be eligible for exemption from the interview. Children under 14 and over 79 can also qualify for this benefit.

Applying for an emergency visa

In cases of emergency, such as the death of a family member, urgent medical treatment or other specific situations, it is possible to request an emergency appointment. To do this, first schedule a normal appointment and then request priority through the appointment system.

Important tips for the consulate interview

Do not bring electronic devices, large bags or liquids, as these items are prohibited inside the embassy or consulate.

Make sure that all your documentation is correct before attending the interview.

Don't buy tickets or make definite plans before getting your visa approved.

What was the change in the American visa?

Now, the deadline for renewing a US visa without an interview has been reduced to 12 months. Previously, applicants had up to four years (48 months) to renew it without having to go through a new interview. If your visa has been expired for more than a year, you will need to schedule an interview at the consulate.

Count on Target Relocation to make your process smoother!

We know that dealing with bureaucracy can be challenging, but you don't have to face this process alone!
